Access Tax Codes
Edit and create State Sales tax codes using Access Tax Codes. Select a State and the sections for type of tax assessed will automatically populate. Tax rates can be edited and added as needed. Search for an existing Tax Code using Find.

Grant permission to User Profiles in Access User Profiles > select a User Profile > Security > Setup > Access Tax Codes. |
Click to create a new Tax Code.
Enter a Tax Code ID in this 10 character alpha-numeric field. This ID will be referenced in Cash Drawer detail, Order Entry, Fertilizer Batches, Feed Orders and Customer Ship To addresses.
Enter a Name for the Tax Code in this 20 character alpha-numeric field.
Provide a Sales Tax Payable General Ledger account for Sales Tax Payable or select F12 to search.
In State Name select a State using F12, after the State is selected, the required State and Local Sales Rate fields appear. see Access States for more information on state tax settings.
The Use Tax Account field will reference the General Ledger account for Use Tax. Enter an ID or use F12 to search.
For the State of Missouri, enter a 12 digit City/County Code which displays in xxxxx xxx xxxx format.
Epicor Tax Code indicates the ID assigned by Epicor for use when exporting sales information.
Select Out of State Sales if the Location conducts out of state sales.
Select Participates in Tax Holidays to indicate participation in Tax Holidays.
For Locations using Oil & Energy, indicate if Residential Heating tax should be assessed.
History- Changes to the Tax Code are recorded in this section.
The following fields populate automatically based on the state selected. Enter the appropriate Tax Rate where applicable.

- Farmer State Rate, the state of California offers customers set as Farmer Exempt a reduced tax rate on the purchase of agricultural tools and equipment. Enter the Farmer State Rate on the Tax Code and enter the Tax Rate on individual Items appropriately.
